Betting Academy - Betting Terms Explanation

Full time result 1/X/2

The bettor has to predict the end-result of a game. This type of sports bet is placed on home team’s or away team’s win or on a draw result.

1 - means that home team will win

X - means that the event will end with a draw

2 - means that away team will win

In order for you to win the selection, the outcome of the even must be the same as the bet you’ve placed after the full-time (extra-time and penalty shootouts are excluded).

Double chance

Double chance bets cover two out of three possible outcomes in an event. You may find the examples below:

1 or X – If the home team wins or the event ends in a draw then your bet is winning.

X or 2 – If the home team wins or the event ends in a draw then your bet is winning.

1 or 2 – If either the home or away team wins the game then your bet is winning. In this case your bet will be a losing one only if the end result after the regular time is a draw.

What is a Handicap and how do you play it?

What is an Under/Over bet?

First half bets

Many bet choices are presented only during the first half. In these types of bets the only important thing is what happens during the first half. Your bet conditions should be met during the first 45 minutes in order for you to win the bet. Many bets are presented for the first half. For example ‘correct score’, under/over, asian handicap, winning team, goals for the team, double chance, goals over/under and so on.

Second half bets

Bets are settled only based on the events of the second half. The events that take place during the first half have no effect on your bet whatsoever. Your bet conditions should be met only during the second 45 minutes/half in order for you to win the bet.

Clean Sheet Bets

This bet is placed on a team and states that the team won’t conceive a goal. The team you’ve placed your bet on must not conceive a goal during the regular time of the match in order for you to win the bet. If your team conceives a goal then your bet loses. Also, if your team scores an own goal then your bet loses.

Correct Score

In this bet you’re guessing the correct score of the game in the regular time.  There are a lot of selections for correct score in a single event. All you gotta do is weigh your chances and pick the right correct score for you. The first number is the number of goals for the home team and the second number is the number of goals for the away teams. The game has to end with the exact score you’ve guessed in order for you to win the bet. If the game ends with any other score then you lose the bet.

Draw No Bet

In this bet type if the game ends in a draw then your stake is refunded. If the team you’ve betted on wins – you win, if the team loses – you lose. Draw no bet removes the chance the game to end in a draw. You can only place a bet on either the home or away team.

Come From Behind and Win

In this bet type the team you’ve betted on must be losing in some point in the match and then must come back and win the game. It dosn’t matter in which half the goals are scored. It only matters if your team was losing and then came back and won the match. As it says in the bet name you can win only if there’s a comeback.

Number Of Goals

In this bet you have to predict the number of goals that will be scored during the match. There are 3 types of ‘Number Of Goals’.  The first consists only from whole numbers and are considered single bets. In order for you to win the bet, the number of goals in the game should be exactly the number you’ve chosen. The selections are 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 goals. The second type consists of range of numbers and are considered pairs. In order for your bet to win, the match must end with or between the numbers you’ve selected. The selections are 0-1, 2-3 or 4-6 goals.  The third type is betting on “more than”. In order for you to win this bet there should be more than 7 goals in the match.

To Win To Nil

This one is like the ‘Clean Sheet’ bet, but here you bet your team to win without conceading a goal. In order for you to win this bet your team has to keep a clean sheet and to win the match in the regular time.

Both teams to score

This is a %50 chance bet for the bettors with a simple YES or NO. This bet covers the goals scored from both teams. If you said YES to this bet then both teams have to score at least one goal. It doesn’t matter if they score more than one because the only thing that matters is for both teams to score. If you said NO to this bet then none or one of the teams must not score a goal in order for you to win the bet.

To Win Both Halves

In order for you to win this bet the team you’ve place your bet on should win both halves seperately. The score from the first half doesn’t affect the the score from the second half. If the first half ends 1-0 and there are no goals in the second half then your bet loses because even the score is in favor of your team they drawed the second half.

Highest Scoring Half

Here you guess in which half there are going to be more goals. There are three outcomes here. In order for your bet to win the first half should consist more goals than the second half and vice versa. The third option to bet is both halves to have the same number of goals.

Matchbet and Totals

In order to win this bet there should be two correct guesses. The first one is who is going to win the game and the second one is under/over goals in total. In order to win this bet you should guess correctly who is going to win and if there are going to be more or less than a certain number of goals. If any one of the guesses is not correct your bet is settled as a loss.

To Win Either Half

In this betting market the team you’ve betted on should win at least one of the halves in the match. If your team wins both halves your bet is settled as won too. If your team losese both halves your bet is settled as a loss. The score from either half doesn’t influence the score in the other half. For example if your team is losing the first half 3-0 and the match ends at 3-1 then you win the bet.

What is a winning margin?

The winning margin is simply by how many goals the team you’ve betted on is going to win. In order for you to win the bet your team has to win the match with exactly the same margin as you’ve selected. Winning margin bets are as follows:

Home team by 1

Home team by 2

Away team by 1

Away team by 2

No goals

Draw excluding 0-0

Half time/Full time

Here you guess the outcome of the half time and full time. The outcomes are presented together and are separated with the “/” symbol. The first part shows the selection for the first half and the second part shows who’s going to win the second half. There are home/home, away/away, home/away, away/home, home/draw, away/draw, draw/home and draw/away bets available.  In order for you to win your bet the outcomes of the first half and from the full time should match your selection. If you guess only one of the outcomes right your bet is settled as a loss.

Goals Odd or Even

This one is simple. You bet on odd or even number of goals in the game or one of the halves. This is also a 50% bet. If you place on odd then there must be 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 or etc goals for you to win the bet. If you place on evens then there must be  0, 2, 4, 6, 8 and etc goals.
